Official Opening of the Zahi Hawass Center of Egyptology
03 May 2018
Within the framework of its regional and international role in celebrating international Egyptian scientists working in various fields—scientists that enriched humanity with their knowledge and great achievements—the BA is officially opening today, 3 May 2018, the Center of Zahi Hawass of Egyptology. This center is one of the first projects adopted by the Director of the BA, Dr. Mostafa el Feki, in light of the great role played by Dr. Zahi Hawass around the world through his public lectures and writings, which influenced human and cultural heritage. Archaeologist Dr. Al Hussein Abdel Bassir, Director of the BA Antiquities Museum, has been assigned to manage this center alongside his work.
The center aspires to be a research, educational, and training center that illuminates knowledge on a regional and international level and all over the Arab world. It also aims to gather expertise in the fields of archaeology and cultural heritage, hold archaeological and scientific events, provide specialized courses and research grants that serve scientific research and enhance archaeological work, and display Dr. Hawass's numerous awards for best archaeologist and archaeological research.
