Who we are?

Zahi Hawass Institute of Egyptology is a center for research, education and training established in February 2018 by Dr. Mostafa el Feki, the director the Library of Alexandria. The center was named after Zahi Hawass, a high profile Egyptologist. It is located in the Center for Cultural and Natural Heritage at the Smart Village in Cairo.

Mission

The Center will focus on the following activities
  • Museology.
  • Professional training for archaeologists, as well as for museum and heritage management professionals.
  • Raising the awareness about cultural and natural heritage.
  • Archaeology and heritage-related projects.
  • Non-destructive methods for the study, documentation and conservation of archaeological assets.
  • Capacity building and promotion of distinguished scholars in the fields of Egyptology and heritage conservation.

Vision

The center aims to conduct research, provide education and training on both national and regional levels. In addition, the center focuses on raising the public awareness about archaeological heritage and means to protect it.
